[D2 ME - Dak's Cabin] Old Flames of a Sort

Open rugged hills near the farmlands that are open country for hunting and sightseeing but it is lightly patrolled so can be dangerous.

She snorted a laugh. "I'm not used to being called a warrior, really. You know what the soldiers and like say about our kind, right? Cowards skulking in the shadows, stuff like that. But I'll take the compliment anyway."

"Hmmm..." Dove sighed and stretched her legs like a content cat. "Alas, I have places I need to be, but not until later. I still got some time. Because I am assuming you were going to ask if I was gonna spend the night."

Dak shrugged slightly "I dont care what the clones and bolt heads think about us. We both know wars are won and lost by intel." The claim was dubious and characteristic of one believing their role was the most important.

His hand that was curled around her stroked the curve of her hip a bit "Unfortunately not, I have a meeting with Vandil later." He grinned down at her "though some day you staying over would be nice I bet."

"Heh, one step at a time. We've already come a long way from our... err... previous encounter." That felt like a nicer way to say it. "But some time we can do something more than just a quick rough tumble and pillow-talk afterwards."

Dove gave his bare chest a light poke. "So... I remember there was a rumor back in the day that you worked with some jedi during the war? Was that true, or just some crazy thing someone said?"

He just nodded "sounds like a plan."

At the question he got a sort of sheepish smile on his lips "I worked with one on a covert mission once yeah. Master Taria Damsin accompanied me on a mission once, it was pretty interesting to see her powers of sneaking in action."

"Ah, no way," she was actually surprised. "Didn't think Jedi were into that sort of thing. They have cheatsy-powers for sneaking too? Ugh... that's just so unfair."

Damn Jedi and their handwaving and glowsticks and stupid powers...

"Mmmmhm. Though I couldnt actually tell you how much she used the force for the stealth and how much was training. She did seem unnaturally coordinated and limber." Dak thought back to some of the acrobatic feats he saw Taria accomplish during their mission "but yes the jedi arent, werent, above being sneaky bastards like the rest of us."

"Hmmmm..." she watched Dak's expression closely as he seemed to reminisce about the Jedi Master. "... You fancied her, didn't you?" Dove remarked with a laugh.

Dak looked down to Dove with a sly grin "Now now Dove a gentleman never kisses and tells. Besides I'm sure you know joint covert intel gathering missions can be. A lot of time spent together with little to no other contact with the outside world. We became friends, she is..." he paused "well was a lovely person."

He smiled down at her unphased by the loss or at least appearing to be "So what was it like working for the CIS?"

"Eh, can't really relate too much. Most of my missions weren't like that, and a lot of it solo, so..." she shrugged, but didn't feel like diving too much into it. Especialy since she noticed the use of past tense. They probably both had enough former partners that were no longer in the living world.

"That's a curious question," Dove mused, smiling back, "but... well, it was alright, I guess? Had cool toys, got to travel to new and interesting worlds to do the dirty work. Most of what I dealt with was fine... thankfully I never really had to spend much time around people like Count Dooku, because he was a... terrifying man to be around, in a very charismatic way. I didn't interact much with the leadership exactly." Most spies didn't.

Dak had no major desire to delve deeper into that particular topic either but he did listen intently to Dove's description of working with CIS "I can imagine, I only ever saw Dooku once in person and the man certainly has an aura about him. Some of the jedi were similar not that I met a lot of them but I was around a lot and even if I didnt report directly to any of them I did go a lot of the same briefings and such. I guess you didnt do much work that involved the 'clankers.'" He said using the term that he had heard most of the clones use during the war.

"'Clankers' and spies don't really go well together, no," she chuckled warmly. Thought it would've been nice to have had one of those SBDs on her side in some sticky situations. "Efficient for combat, but not terribly bright or understanding of subtleties."

"It's not like we... the CIS... were some group of evil villains laughing evilly to ourselves during the war, you know. Most of them were just regular people who saw the corruption in the Republic. The unfairness. Sure, there were bad seeds, but I think we can both say that applies to both sides."

He nodded and smiled to her warmly "I know Dove, I think us intelligence assets see enough of how the sausage is made to know that there arent often heros and villains just a bunch of people doing what they think is best." He thought for a moment "maybe not with the empire, they seem pretty villainous so far.

"Yeah, we can both agree on that. That was some... pretty terrible stuff, earlier." Dove knew war, but she knew the shadier side of it. Not the battlefield-side. She'd not been on the battlefield as a soldier, or seen up close the damages and casualties of an attack like that until today.

"Damn shit-heads. They're not gonna get away with all this."

Dak's other hand came up and lifted her chin and he looked in her eyes, his orange amber eyes almost glowed with a shifting sea of emotions passion, anger, conviction, a few other swirled together "No they won't, We'll make sure of it. Together." He closed the distance and kissed her not the hard rough kiss of enflamed passions boiling over but a softer kiss with a simmering passion as he hand shifted to cup her cheek and then hold the back of her neck gently.

When their lips parted he looked at her for a moment "but for now they are out there and we are in here and we dont have to think of anything outside of these four walls." He said in a smooth voice and a small smile.

Dove's eyes were like ice and snow, their paleness betraying the Arkanian origin of her genetic-makeup. Still intense, and wide-eyed, yet they betrayed so little emotion compared to Dak's warm glow.

But whatever emotions that were hidden in her eyes were more tangible in the kiss, as it combined the softness of her lips and mouth with the more emotional movements of kissing.

"Right... I suppose I should confess I was never good at the 'switching off'-thing," she confessed with a sheepish chuckle.

"well if that's the case I think I know something that might get your mind of it for a time." He said as he slipped his arm out from under her and rolled over to be on top of her supporting his weight on his arms on either side of her head.

He gave her a sultry grin as his Amber eyes looked down at her "That is if you have the time."

"Oh," Dove exclaimed as their positions shifted, and she found herself under Dak. "Oh my..." she chuckled, arms coming up to embrace him with her hands linked together behind his back. "I think I know what you have in mind."

"I should have time for round two, before I have to go."
