[Day 3 - MM] Suicide Squad Operation

[Dapper Dog]

Djanik was surprised to see Dak there.

It seemed more than one criminal in Rygor had a grudge to settle with the Empire.

Still, while the rest chatted, he couldn't really leave the controls, so he sat alone in the cockpit, watching the sands of the great dune sea pass below.

"You did okay, kid," Liua said from her seat next to him. "But next time you point a blaster at me, I am punching you right in the face."

[Qareme Torth]

"Ain't any call for that Miss Qareme, just glad to get you and the other folks out, sure it wasn't much fun being in there. You just keep doing what you're doing and I consider us squarer than a box of cubes. Oh, and I go by Floats myself."

"Floats. Lovely to meet you, and thank you. I intend to continue, these are small steps towards a better brighter future."

You look familiar, but I can't think where from....

"Now we need to prepare for what happens next."

The senator is sitting but her legs have seen better days and she is in pain but alive. She said to Qareme, "I will find a shower, I think."

Qareme chuckled at that. "I was thinking something similar." She nodded to Dove when the woman approached, but allowed her and the Senator to talk, as they appeared to know each other.

She smiled weakly, "I need a vacation from my vacation."

It was a dry joke to distract from the pain as she closed her eyes and said, "I never thought I would be out of there."

That stung a little, but she figured the ordeal had to have been terrible.

"I would have found you eventually. I'm just... sorry I didn't find you sooner."

Dak clapped his shoulder "Ah and you're better for it, a little life threatening chaos tends to put things in perspective. Let's you know what's really important to you."

Petrus chuckled. "I guess so. In that case, things should really, really, be in perspective." He frowned, considering. What really was important to him? A multitude of images seemed to flicker before his eyes, ending inconclusively. I'm still divided, inside.

He looked at Dak. "So... that work for you?"

It seemed they had all escaped without casualty, it was a small miracle and Ru'ni offered a prayer to the gods for their watchful gaze that spared his noble companions from death and misery.

There had already been enough of that to go around of late.

If he wasn't in such a good mood, he might've rustled her hair for that.

As it was, he just chuckled.

"All right, maam, I'll keep it in mind."

Tipping his hat, as he would to an elder lady, he gave the craft a small adjustment, so as not to hit a wandering flock of scavenging birds. No reason to terrorize the wildlife at a time like this.

Petrus chuckled. "I guess so. In that case, things should really, really, be in perspective." He frowned, considering. What really was important to him? A multitude of images seemed to flicker before his eyes, ending inconclusively. I'm still divided, inside.

He looked at Dak. "So... that work for you?"

"The first few times yeah, after a while one death defying suicide operation becomes much like another. Slim margin of success high resistance, large chance of ending up in a ditch. Standard fare for me. Though I haven't done something that stupid in awhile." He said with a big grin "How do you plan to celebrate our overwhelming success?"

Petrus chuckled. "So, you're always doing this kinda thing, huh? Alright. And if you're calling it stupid..." He shook his head.

He leaned back again, letting out another long breath. "Celebrate... phew. Well, I gotta get back, see my sister. I think that's best for both of us huh?" He smirked at Dak a moment. "After that... whoa, it's still early, huh? I feel like this is why people do night missions; do the job, go home, sleep."

He grimaced. "I'm guessing you've got bigger celebrations in mind?"

Dak shook his head with a grin on his face "Used to back when I worked for Republic Intelligence. And we all knew this was stupid. Necesarry, the right thing to do, but stupid."

He listened to Petrus talk for a bit "Huh yeah I'm sure your sister would like to see you." Dak slid in next to him and leaned against the wall "No plans actually. Might go down to the Nerf, might just hang out in the cabin. Not sure yet honestly."

"Oh really?" Petrus' eyebrows went up. "Republic Intelligence? I've got a friend did that. You ever work with..." He leaned a little closer, then, making sure only Dak was watching, nodded over towards Dove. After all, she was in Republic Intelligence, wasn't she?

She wasn't.

Clearing his throat, Petrus sat back. "That all sounds good... cabin, huh?"

It wasnt his place to tell Dove's friends about what she used to do and for whom and Dak wasnt looking to put strain on their new relationship.

Dak nodded "yup got a little place outside of Rygor near the wild hills. built the frame for it my self. But got it filled with all the modern stuff, water, electricity, all those goodies."

Dak followed Petrus' eyes to Dove and a large toothy grin formed on his lips "Oh I know Dove but I'll let you talk to her about her past." He said mysteriously. It wasnt his place to tell Dove's friends about what she used to do and for whom and Dak wasnt looking to put strain on their new relationship.

"... oh?" Petrus frowned thoughtfully, then glanced over at Dove, his gaze lingering a while. That sounded... weird. He made a mental note to ask her about it later.

"Huh. That sounds pretty great." Petrus said. "I don't spend enough time out in the forest... I really should more." Jenna would probably like it. "So how'd you meet my sister?"

"You should come out sometime, the hills are a little dangerous if you dont know what you're doing but I work as a nature guide so I can steer clear of the nastier things out there. But hunting, fishing, hiking all good ways to spend time out that way. Beautiful country. Bring Jenna along if you think she'd enjoy it." He offered with a sincere smile.

"Oh your sister and I just bumped into each other at the Salty Nerf and again yesterday during the uh...well you know." He made a vague hand gesture thinking about the enclave.

[Sinnya]

She flicked a couple of comm switches, finding the Resistance channel. "Transport, come in. Transport, this is Speeder Blue. Or, uh, Flyer Blue? Are you away safe?" Please don't let them all be Purged, whatever that means. "Do you need backup? The Inquisitor is... out of the picture for now."

[Djanik]

Djanik tapped the comms.

"This is Gnapple hauler - we're clear."

With a faint smile, he added "You can head back."

Djanik's comm crackled again:

"Oh, good. Um... Where's 'back?'"

"Oh, good. Um... Where's 'back?'"

"Home. Stash the ship and head home."

Shaking his head he glanced out the window.

"Yeah, okay, sure." Petrus said agreeably. "Maybe I will." Huh, was he making a second guy friend, besides Sloan? Wouldn't that be something.

"Oh, yeah, Jenna said that she went and saw a show there or something, right? I..." Petrus sighed, "-that's probably something I should do more often too." Not just watch shows. "And yeah... I know. Thanks." Petrus smiled. "I was really proud of her, too, helping out like she did." His voice was warm; clearly he cared about his sister a great deal.

Dak passed off his comm information to Petrus "just call ahead so I can have everything ready to go."

"The Nerf is alright, not sure if it's your kind of place but if you dont mind rubbing elbows with a rough crowd it's not a bad place to get a drink." He paused for a moment "so what do you do for fun?"

"Well, uh..." Petrus brushed his hand back through his hair, reddening slightly. Here was this spy who hung out in clubs and listened to music and hunted, while Petrus... "y'know, just, hang out and stuff. Do... things."

After a few moments, Petrus sighed. "I watch a lot of holodramas. Or, at least, I used to. I'm cutting back. Getting out more." That was better; tell the truth, even if it's scary and makes you look like a huge dork.

I think it's alright for you to enjoy quiet easy going stuff in your down time."

"Ahhhh nice, when I lived on Courscant I used to watch one called Ggrangnnarr the Barbarian about a man who was abandoned in the woods as a child and raised by a tribe of wookies, pretty good stuff." He paused for a moment "and hey nothing wrong with enjoying that kind of stuff, Maybe if it's all you do probably not too healthy for you but you're out here doing death defying missions. I think it's alright for you to enjoy quiet easy going stuff in your down time."

Petrus chuckled. "Heh, thanks Dak. You're a good guy." After a few moments, he let one eyebrow go up. "And you know, they sometimes show reruns of Ggrangnnarr the Barbarian late at night. Or early in the morning. If you're feeling nostalgic sometime, you should check it out."

He cleared his throat. "You know, my sister and I are actually from Coruscant. Although we had pretty different experiences of it."

He scratched his chin "Huh they do eh? Interesting, though I'd have to find something to watch it on. I never bothered with anything like that when I was setting up the cabin, but thanks for the tip!" He said with a warm smile "You're not too bad yourself."

Dak nodded "I figured from the way you talked, both you and your sister have the accent though different ones which is...curious." he remarked with a furrowed brow.
