"A kid?" Petrus face twisted. "I'm sorry Sacha. I don't know..." He brushed a hand back through his hair. "I'm sorry." His blue eyes were sad as he looked at her.

He let out a breath. "At least you recovered them, even if you're not quite sure how. I could see getting... battle adrenaline or something in a case like that."

"Can't get battle adrenaline if you didn't fight," she stated quietly. "It's not a matter of not remembering how I did it."

Petrus paused in his sweeping. "Uh... what do you mean?" He asked. "You didn't fight... what did you do? You can't remember?"

"Although..." He resumed sweeping slowly, studying the ground carefully. "That sort of thing ever happen to you before?"

"Yeah, sure." Petrus said, chuckling. "Like, you ever get those weird feelings that something's gonna happen, and then it does happen? Like, you just knew it?"

Sweep, sweep. Petrus gave her a casual sidelong glance.

She sighed as she worked, shaking her head. "Well, sure. It's not hard to see where the wind is blowing. Though maybe it is, given how often people don't seem to notice, or don't seem to notice when someone just screams 'bad news'."

Petrus chuckled, shaking his head. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Well, that sort of thing seems to happen more to some people than to others. I don't know."

He looked up, eyes meeting her... helmet. Right. "But you trust your instincts, don't you?"

"Of course," she agreed. It was obvious to do so, wasn't it? "That's just how one survives."

"Good." Petrus said, smiling. "Keep doing that. It'll serve you well."

He tilted his head, regarding her, still smiling. "And keep your spirits up, too. You had fun tonight, right? It's easy to forget about good things, give in to despair." He sighed. "I've been guilty of that, from time to time."
