The weak points of an Empire (D2, EM, Library)

"How about all of the above," Mia said, though she definitely liked the sound of the last one. And the one about sand. She really disliked it.

[Djanik]

Djanik raised an eyebrow.

"Well, it won't be cheap - even if you buy bulk."

He cracked his neck, thinking, and then added, "You might have some luck at this used speeder lot... 'Joe of Joe's'."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Joe of Joe's, huh? Lemme guess, his family name of Joeson?" Mia asked with a wry grin. She then shrugged and patted her pockets. "I don't have anything that's too deep myself, unfortunately."

[Djanik]

"Then you may have a hard time getting wholesale, no matter how good the prices are."

Djanik chuckled, leaning back in his chair.

"What's all this about then?"

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"I told you, didn't I? Forming a large group of speeder enthusiasts." Mia rubbed her chin. "Maybe they'll be able to afford the wholesale purchasing of speeders."

[Djanik]

"That depends on your group."

He shrugged.

"I know I woudn't be able to do that."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"You think the Empire gives out big loans?" Mia asked, partially as a joke. Not like never paying them back their money would hurt her anymore than her other crimes.

[Djanik]

"I'm sure there is a bank somewhere which might..."

He shook his head.

"Most of them are tied to Hutts, and defaulting on their loans is... risky."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Who said I was planning on defaulting?" Mia asked, totally innocent. She gave a wry smile and then sighed. "I try to avoid the Hutts entirely."

[Djanik]

"A good life strategy."

Djanik pulled a public use data chip from the stack by the terminal. They were tiny storage, flimsy things, cheap as dirt.

Copying over the information about the speeder shop, he pulled the chip out and handed it to the investigative woman.

"One I would recommend sticking with."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Sounds like you have troubles with them already," Mia remarked, taking the chip with graciously opened palms. "Thank you, by the way."

[Djanik]

"I've had them in the past."

He smiled faintly.

"It's never quite over."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Seems like a common trend on this planet," Mia replied, "Pretty weird coincidence, now that I think about it."

[Djanik]

"Not really."

He rolled his eyes.

"You know Hutts will do this wherever they go."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Oh, no, I meant everyone being in some sort of trouble. Guess it ain't that weird," Mia said, rubbing her chin, "These are pretty difficult times."

[Djanik]

"Also true."

Djanik shrugged.

"Glad I could at least help you with your inquiries."
