[Day 3 - ME] Rygor Street Art RP Thread

[Dove Gray]

He snorted at that but followed her lead, he was more of a beer guy. Wine did get the job done though.

"Oh, I can fly just about anything there is. I'm better with speeders of course but that's just a matter of practice. " There was a small pause "Not much practice with astrogation, but thats basically just numbers and I have a fair head for those."

"The friend of yours, Mia."

(I have no idea how I managed to switch the beer to wine like that xD)

"Yeah, Mia," Dove confirmed, nodded. "She's cute, yeah?"

[Astin Denive]

(Haha, wine works better for an art fest.)

"Yeah." He agreed with a nod, a bit curious as to if Dove knew her preferences. "Doesn't really show it off with the way she dresses, but if she did like as not she would turn a few heads."

His lips curled into a smirk. "She seems to think I spend too much time on my own too. Though I'm not entirely sure why."

[Qareme Torth]

"Huh." Petrus frowned thoughtfully. "I've heard about her. Both generally and then, y'know, yesterday." He gave a vague wave of his hand.

"Do you know, is she, uh, active?" Petrus gave Qareme a significant look. Hopefully she'd understand that he meant in the Resistance, and not into exercising or something.

"I believe that many will be inspired into activity by what we have experienced. However, I was not aware of this happening. She has spoken to you regarding it?" Qareme gazed at the witch, before looking back at Petrus "she is a valuable friend of us all."

[Verse Aura]

"Sentients shall always be seeking advantage of one another and define selves in opposition to others for various reasons, conflict and violence are inevitable. Why not embrace it and live the life that is rather than a fantasy?"

"Because they're *not* inevitable," she said, eyes looking up at the sky like she'd just seen a pretty butterfly pass by, "and even if you can't stop people from doing those things, it's still important to try. Because it's not just about them, it's about you too."

[Petrus Karath]

"That's her?" Petrus looked at Juri, frowning curiously. "No, I actually haven't met her before." He chewed his lip thoughtfully for a few moments. "I was already thinking it might be a good idea. Now I definitely think I should make a point of it."

[Juri Saizesh]

The Witch remained near the crowd after presenting her piece, and pocketing the credits from the sale. Despite her small stature, she stood out in her overcoat, a certain fierceness that was lent to the garment and to her.

She strode through the crowd, taking in the sights of the art pieces, before she felt something. As if she was being watched. She turned, the hood falling from her cowl. Her long foxtail held up my a rather wicked and malicious feeling hairpin.

Those purple eyes falling upon the human male and Qareme. Flat, sensible boots moved quietly over the road, heading to the pair.

"Glad to see a fair can help recover from the news of the day." She smiled, her eyes twinkling. About her neck, a wicked green gem caught the light, a certain darkness seemingly weighing on it. "It is good to see you safe, Qareme."

[Qareme Torth]

The gem caught Qareme's attention before anything else, and a small concerned look crossed her face for the briefest moment before the large Zabrak lowered her head in greeting.

"I am pleased to see you are well Juri. These last few days must have been painful for you, and I wish I could have done more. I agree though, this gathering of art has done wonders for the morale of the people."

She turned slightly to Petrus, a smile on her face.

"It appears fate has provided you an opportunity. My friend Petrus here was just mentioning wishing to meet the wonderful artist who painted the piece that was here before someone purchases it, and you appear. Petrus, allow me to introduce Juri Saizesh. We have known each other for quite some time, thankfully not as healer and patient though. At least not very many times."

She turned back to Juri.

"Juri, this is a very long time friend. Petrus Karath."

[Petrus Karath]

While Qareme first noticed the gem, Petrus noticed the way she turned, seeming to know she was being watched. There was the slightly tingle at the back of the neck as he met her purple eyes for the first time. Rygor was hot, but Petrus had to suppress a shiver.

But a Nice Young Man like Petrus certainly wasn't going to tell what was by all accounts a very nice young woman that there was something strange about her. And the necklace she wore. He held out his hand with a friendly smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Juri. Any friend of Qareme's is a friend of mine. At least, I hope so." He joked.

His smile faded, just a little, and he gave her a more serious nod. "Qareme and I were just talking about recent stuff. And people who helped out. You came up. Lucky running into you just then." Petrus' lips quirked, just a little; he didn't believe in luck, after all.

[Juri Saizesh]

"In my experience, there's no such thing as luck." Her smile never disappeared from her lips. "It is nice to meet you, Petrus." She took the offered hand, shaking it. When he mentioned the state of affairs, there was a crack in the pleasantries.

"Well... I wish I had been able to do more. It was..." she trailed off, looking away for a moment.

"It wasn't what should have been."

[Qareme Torth]

"Everything happens for a reason, even if it not one we can see right now" Qareme said quietly, lowering her head "the Imperials will continue to show what they can do, but I do not believe people will lay down and accept it."

Qareme looked over the crowd, before turning back to the conversation.

"I believe what has happened will do the opposite of what they intended."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus' lips quirked. "I've been known to say the same thing myself, from time to time." He glanced curiously at Qareme for a moment.

"No." Petrus said quietly. "It wasn't. But maybe that's for another time. But I'm glad for the people who did stand up."

He cleared his throat. "So... can you tell us about your painting? Qareme was impressed by it."

[Daunt]

"Because they're *not* inevitable," she said, eyes looking up at the sky like she'd just seen a pretty butterfly pass by, "and even if you can't stop people from doing those things, it's still important to try. Because it's not just about them, it's about you too."

"In other words, it's just something that keeps you going. Which is fine. But not all of those trillions in the galaxy are like you, Verse, nor do they think they should be. And I think that's the biggest problem with any code trying to be universal. No matter how right and good you're going to be in your own eyes, it will always lead to some 'us versus them' situation. Look where going down that rabbit hole got the Republic." He shrugged. "Why not just fight and let fight for to each their own?"

[Verse Aura]

She kept looking at the sky for a few more moments, before her eyes went back down to him.

"But *why* do *you* want to fight?"

[Daunt]

He gave it a long thought, finally coming up with an answer that rang true for him.

"Because defining myself requires struggle. If I am not ready to fight, also with the pliant part of myself that seeks accommodation, others will come to decide who I am. To forbid violence is like to tell me I should be a tool."

[Verse Aura]

"But to be ready to fight to defend who you are doesn't mean you have to be the one to *start* the fight, does it?"

[Daunt]

"There is no start or end, but an endless chain of past violence that has shaped conditions for us and the one you can exercise in the present to reshape them. Every peace is someone's pax, and stands on the shoulders of killers." He pointed to the painting. "Clearly, you have your issues with the Imperial 'peace' after the Clone Wars and seek revolution. Suppose you have your way and establish another. What comes next?"

(Haha, wine works better for an art fest.)

"Ah, that's Mia, for ya," Dove chuckled, gesturing for them to continue walking around to observe the other art pieces. "She's big sis, or a mom, I can't tell which one, to be honest. But she takes care of people. It's really sweet of her. She must want to take care of you too, then."

[Verse Aura]

He seemed to have a lot of words to justify his love of violence with, but Verse wasn't buying it. Or maybe she just wasn't getting it, because she kept looking at him with a naive; and dumb; look of innocence on her face.

"You ask the wrong questions, Daunt. The future is unknown, and the only certainty we can have is what's in our own hearts. As you say, there is no start or end to violence. Perhaps you do not believe pacifism could break the chain. But if fighting is inevitable, then you should at least fight to do *good*. Or else you're just contributing to the cycle of suffering."

[Daunt]

He nodded. "I'll definitely be fighting for what I see as a good reason to, and you'll do no less. I'll be thinking of what you've said today, and about your painting. The *good* requires to be thought about."

[Verse Aura]

She nodded in return. "I hope you come to a deeper understanding. If you'd like, you could share your findings with me."

[Daunt]

"I'll do so. Deeper understanding only comes when there is disagreement. If all agree, it's just an echo chamber."

[Astin Denive]

"Ah, that's Mia, for ya," Dove chuckled, gesturing for them to continue walking around to observe the other art pieces. "She's big sis, or a mom, I can't tell which one, to be honest. But she takes care of people. It's really sweet of her. She must want to take care of you too, then."

"Well that happens when you're raised on a farm. A lot of people end up with a nurturing nature." He frowned softly, he was not sure what he thought of being taken care of. "She doesn't collect pets does she?"

"But I suppose I am a bit interested, I'll have to clean up some of my bad habits though. No walking around the shop naked with ladies about after all."

[Dove Gray]

"Thank the maker, no, she does not." And Dove would've had something against it too. They couldn't adopt all the strays the found in the galaxy, after al.

"No need to make a decision tonight, of course. Just something to keep in mind, right?" She grinned. "And by no means do you need to stop such habits on my behalf."

[Astin Denive]

"That's a relief, I don't mind animals but more then one or two will play hell with upkeep on a ship." Fur got everywhere.... Everywhere!

"You're right, and I will keep it in mind." He grinned before taking a sip of his wine. "And I'll remember that, still might run it by Mia first though. Or get a show of hands or something."

"Heh, putting it to a vote is only fair, I guess." She knew Mia was much more bothered by nudity than she was herself.

"So... seen anything else that catches your fancy here tonight? Of the art, I mean."
