Day 4 EE - Welcome to my humble Aboat

[Fathynyu Kurrek]

The 'Floation Device' skips quickly across the waves as Floats seems determined to blow out its engines, the throttle open so wide the roar drowns out most of the sound of the sea.

Shouting over the top of the engines as the craft flies forward, approaching a small wooded island "SO I FOUND THIS PLACE A FEW YEARS BACK, IT'S REALLY RESTFUL. YOU CAN POSITIVELY FEEL THE SERENITY."

[Petrus Karath]

"WHAT?" Petrus yelled. He was hunched on a seat, knees pulled up to his chest, hands pressed over his ears. Oh, kriff. I thought space travel was rough. I'm never gonna complain about it again.

Petrus groaned (inaudibly) as the boat seemed to speed up, leaping over the waves, making his stomach churn...

"I SAID AIN'T THIS REAL RELAXING?"
Floats brings the boat in by a huge slide, bumping across the waves before finally slamming against the padded quay jutting out from the beach, with a flick of her switch she turns the engines off and the dull roar is suddenly absent

"You feeling alright? Indigestion?"

Petrus took a few moments to answer. He breathed in carefully through grit teeth. Then out. In, out. "Maybe just a little. Probably something I ate." Petrus said fainly. Like any food, every in my life, before going on this insane contraption.

Slowly, he unclenched his hands. "Are we there?" Petrus rose... or rather half-rose, then fell back into his seat with a startled exclamation. "When does it stop moving?" It felt as though the boat was still in motion, the floor moving beneath them.

Petrus took a few moments to answer. He breathed in carefully through grit teeth. Then out. In, out. "Maybe just a little. Probably something I ate." Petrus said fainly. Like any food, every in my life, before going on this insane contraption.

Slowly, he unclenched his hands. "Are we there?" Petrus rose... or rather half-rose, then fell back into his seat with a startled exclamation. "When does it stop moving?" It felt as though the boat was still in motion, the floor moving beneath them.

"Oh you just need your sea legs fellah, they come with time. Few more days on the boat and you'll be as right as three left turns."
She jumps onto the wooden pier with a grin and extends a hand back to her fellow padawan.

"That..." Petrus groaned, "-sounds about right." With another wince, he reached up, gripping Float's hand firmly. Whoa, strong grip.

Petrus basically gets yanked onto the quay

"We'll get you right as rain. I have some iced lemonade in the cooler and the sea breeze is great for your skin, well, assuming you're of an aquatic persuasion"

Once more for the day, Petrus suddenly found himself involuntarily propelled, this time up to the dock. Well, that was the last time, anyway. Until I have to go back... Petrus shuddered.

On the other hand, now that he was on, well, semi-solid land, the air actually did smell quite pleasant. Petrus took a deep breath, his shoulders rising and falling. "Yeah. It is pretty nice, isn't it?" He smiled. "And yeah, I'd take a lemonade."

Once more for the day, Petrus suddenly found himself involuntarily propelled, this time up to the dock. Well, that was the last time, anyway. Until I have to go back... Petrus shuddered.

"Then follow and take a look about"
The quay ends up on a sandy beach and then there's a small dirt track that winds through the sparse foliage for about 15 minutes until it terminates at a small garden gate with a low stone wall.

Ahead is a classic holiday cottage, replete with veggie garden and small stone chimney sending out a plume of smoke
"Home sweet home."

Deep breaths were steadily making Petrus feel beter; his color was rapidly returning to normal. By the time they arrived at the cottage, he looked whole and healthy again.

"I thought home was where the boat was?" Petrus joked, smiling. "But really... it looks great, Floats. Really comfortable." One hand casually traced along the stone wall as they walked past it.

Deep breaths were steadily making Petrus feel beter; his color was rapidly returning to normal. By the time they arrived at the cottage, he looked whole and healthy again.

"I thought home was where the boat was?" Petrus joked, smiling. "But really... it looks great, Floats. Really comfortable." One hand casually traced along the stone wall as they walked past it.

"I tried the boat house thing....you wouldn't believe the size and aggression of the whales around here. Anyway, yeah, it's home for now. Little cramped now with all the folks sitting by, but I had a little guest room I built a ways back, just in case."

She grins at the memory as she opens the door and reveal a rather messy but homely split living room and kitchen.

At the talk of aggressive whales, Petrus glanced back nervously towards the boat. Well, that would be a problem for the trip back.

Petrus chuckled, smiling at the inside of the room. The mess didn't bother him. Just made it feel more lived in. "How many folks have you got here now, anyway?"

"Sorta 5 of us sometimes? Armoured pervert, then Grizzy and her folks. It's a little snug but they're all good guests."
She picks up a pile of dirty clothes and dumps it in a laundry basket and uses a foot to slide a toy out of a dangerous central location

"I can't believe armored pervert turned out to be a good guy." Petrus murmured, shaking his head. "Makes me think we should give him a different nickname."

Petrus cleared his throat. "But yeah, the cube. Definitely. You just found it at the prison?"

She leads him through the living room and to a small bedroom, quickly kicking some underwear under the furniture as she pulls out a sparkling cube labelled 'do not touch'

"Yessir, they were giving it a right look at there. But you know, it felt different so I grabbed it and low and behold" she spreads her arms "Boom, holocron!"

Petrus' eyebrows went up. "Do we? I get called 'the kid' a lot. I don't know that I really care for it." He politely looked away as she kicked the underwear... whoa, what size was that bra? Nevermind. Clearing his throat, Petrus focused on the cube.

"Well done, Floats. The Force must be strong with you." Wow, it felt good to just be able to say that. Petrus smiled, then frowned at the cube. "So, uh, how does it work? Do you have to turn it on, or what?"

"Well done, Floats. The Force must be strong with you." Wow, it felt good to just be able to say that. Petrus smiled, then frowned at the cube. "So, uh, how does it work? Do you have to turn it on, or what?"

"Ain't you my age? Bit deprecating to being called you 'the kid' unless you're some kinda gunslinger, which if you was, it would be real cool."
she puts the cube on a cushion and then sits back on the ground in front of it

"You gotta meditate, let the force flow through you, think real hard about not thinking real hard. Just follow my lead"
The Nautolan visibly begins to relax as she breathes deeply, staring at the holocron before them

Petrus chuckled. "Nope. Not me. The masters were against it, after all. How uncivilized." It was a pretty good Kenobi impression.

Following Floats' example, Petrus knelt down beside her. He matched his breathing to hers, to his own heartbeat, as he focused on the holocron...

She bows her head formerly before raising it with a grin

"I've uh, brought a friend. If that's alright. I think he knows something of your past and he's real swell."

[Dapper Dog]

"That is fine, though given the time gap I would be surprised," the gatekeeper replied.

[Petrus Karath]

"Um... hello there." Petrus waved. He swallowed, suddenly nervous.

He cleared his throat. "Actually, you first appeared to me in a vision. And then, when I meditated later, another vision. That gave me enough information to figure out who you are." He took a deep breath. "And who I am."

He sat up straighter. "My name is Petrus Karath. At some point, long, long ago, our family paths crossed. Hoshin became Karath, at least as far as I can tell. On down to me. And leading back to you, or someone close to you."

Petrus spread his hands. "So, I don't know if you're my many-greats grandfather, or many-greats granduncle. But, uh, either way, I guess we're family."

Floats nods sagely

"I knew on account of the hair."

[Dapper Dog]

Daz chuckled and said, “Well this is an interesting wrinkle in the Force. I can say when this was created I didn’t have children but that does not mean I didn't have kids and well my cousin… I am not sure if she is capable of those emotions.”

“Well Petras welcome to the family.”

"Thank you." Petrus said, inclining his head.

He frowned. "Ummm... there was kinda a lot in the vision. And I don't know how much of you this holocron contains. Are you familiar with Byron Mik? A Jedi Knight who left the order?"
