Away from things (Day 3 Mid Afternoon)

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"That where you learned how to shoot, you said you had some experience in that sort of thing." Ru'ni asked Dak.

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak nodded "Operations Specialist Surt, Republic Intelligence reporting for duty." With a grin and a two fingered salute. "I joined very young and showed a lot of skill with a rifle and sneaking about."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"My people train from a young age as well," Ru'ni compares as he gestures to the hunting bow he carries around. "Although our weapons are a little less advanced than most."

"I imagine the skill is reasonably transferable though."

[Astin Denive]

If Astin wasn't struggling with a fish Dak would of got a odd look when he mentioned his former rank. He wasn't really a fan of spies himself, and that's what Dak's words seemed to indicate he was. They were cool in the holovids, but reality was a bit different, at least to Astin. They were involved in a bit too much plotting and well spying for his liking. I mean if someone wanted to see his cock they could just ask, they didn't need to peek into his pants when he wasn't looking.

"Likely so." He offered to join in on the conversation as he landed the fish, a largish blue trout much like Ru'ni's. "But I don't have enough practice with long guns to say for certain."

Dak whistled at the catch "Nice one Astin, plan on eating, mounting, or are you more a catch and release man? Just in it for the sport?" He asked with a smile

He turned to Ru'ni "uhh similar concepts maybe but blasters arent effected by wind as much as arrows or slugs throwers are. Also gravity pulls on them less so you dont compensate for it as much."

Ru'ni laughed long and loud.

"Do your saying this," he waggled his bow. "Is harder to shoot than one of your blasters? Are they really as simple as point and click? No wonder our ways are dying out." He added with a melodramatic sigh at the end.

[Astin Denive]

"Eating it of course, I'm not much for catch and release unless I have too much for me and no one to share with." Astin replied unhooking the fish and tossing it in a nearby bucket filled with water.

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak nodded "Bow and arrows are harder to shoot, dont go as far usually, less accurate, and do less damage. Theres still a large skill component to shooting and aiming but yeah all advancement is designed to make our tools better at what they do."

Dak nodded "good man, I personally think the only reason to put the animals through that trauma and suffering is if you plan to put them to good use."

[Astin Denive]

"I don't honestly put that much thought into it. Grew up on a farm, though a ranch would likely be a more fitting term" He scratched at the stubble of his right cheek.

"After seeing the care put into raising animals just to slaughter them, well you tend to have a slightly different perspective on things."

Dak nodded "sure, I ain't got nothing against hurting things just think it always needs to serve a purpose. Shouldnt just be done to get your jollies off in my opinion." He shrugged "but to each their own."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

Ru'ni voices his agreement with the points being raised.

"Most species hunt and kill to feed, but I think it is only the sentient ones that kill for fun."

[Astin Denive]

"Oh I agree with that." Astin replied with a nod towards Ru'ni. "I was more trying to say a bit of fishing for sport then releasing the catch is far from the worse thing we sentient folk do."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"It is far from a malicious act, friend. It shows a great respect for the sanctity of life and is a fine example of the good that we can do, not the evil." Ru'ni replies with an appreciation and respect in his voice.

Dak nodded in agreement and set up his own pole a couple feet away from Astin and sat back on his elbows. "So I already know a bit about why you're here Runi but what brings you here Astin? To Bankor and Rygor. Are you a local?"

[Astin Denive]

"More a wanderer really, been bouncing around the galaxy for years now." Astin replied with a shrug, before casting again. "Was on Coreilla before this. A few others places before that."

[Jurdak Surt]

"Ahhh Coreilla is a nice place to spend a time, great whiskey. That was one of my favorite postings I did." He said in a reminiscent tone and a small smile.

"Do you have a favorite place to visit or that you have visited?" He asked while looking out into the waters.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

All the talk of far away places and distant travel was lost on Ru'ni. In his world, he was considered well traveled, but the perspective was very distant, he had visited less continents than these people had visited worlds and they spoke of it so casually.

He started to daydream a little about what it would be like to move so far away from his home, but his sense of responsibility to his people, especially in their current need, kept his spirit tethered to this land.

[Astin Denive]

"Not particularly, most worlds have some nice places to go. Especially if you have a speeder to take you there." He motioned towards his bike.

"Not all of em have so much in the way of nature and wildlife though, especially when you draw nearer to the core."

He glanced towards Dak. "You?"

Dak thought for a moment "Nah I think I agree with you that a lot of places have their own good stuff but I cant think of a place I like more than others. Maybe my homeworld but I think that's more bias than anything else. The open plains of Cathar are so much fun to hunt in and the tree cities are a marvel if you ask me."

[Astin Denive]

"Never been, so I'll have to take your word for it." Astin replied with a half smile, turning towards Ru'ni. "What about you though, and place you like more then the others?"

[Ru'ni Wayne]

Snapped out of the semi-nap he had found himself in, Ru'ni was a little startled and it took him a few moments to get his thoughts together.

"I'm not as worldly as the rest of you, I've never been off planet. Hell, I've never even been as far as the Arinva Ice Shelf. I think even if I had though, I'm a simple soul, there's no place like home. Whether it's a place or a feeling, but for me it's definitely the Sky Tree Sea."

[Astin Denive]

"Hrm, I've heard nice things about the place. Never been inside though, don't really seem like the type of place someone would ride a speeder." All those trees would make it pretty treacherous.

"Maybe I'll go have a closer look sometime though." He looked towards Ru'ni. "If you thinks it's a safe thing to do at least."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

Ru'ni shakes his head sadly. "Before yesterday, I would've taken you there myself. After the attack on the Enclave though? My people are a little more sceptical of laowai now than ever."

"I will try to talk them down from this stance, but it may take a while I think."

[Astin Denive]

"Figured that might be the case." Astin offered with a soft sigh. "Nothing for it though all things considered, if there comes a time you people are a bit more comfortable with things. Well, maybe I can visit then. If I'm around for it that is." Who knew how long he might stay on this planet after all.

Dak nodded "It is a very beautiful place to call home. I hope they accept outsiders again someday. Though Astin you can still go to the Sky Tree Sea you would simply need to avoid Aznuri territory. I can guide you if you like. I have been there before, there is also the chance of running into large predators though."
