"Then you can train us?" Qareme asked, curious "I assume that would be training in line with how the Sixth were instructed, which is beyond the normal training of the Jedi."Jedi Master Surro wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 3:53 pm"That is the purpose, to train Jedi of the Sixth Line" she responded. "I cannot leave this temple."
She peered to the others. I'm not sure they would be suitable for what could happen here...

"Oh," she approached Holomaster Surro, in a moment between all the others going around. "I was just curious if you have anything on a planet called..." She searched her memories for a moment, making sure she got it right, "Auratera? It's not on any of the modern charts."

Re: [D6MA -- TBD] Le Voyage dans la Lune
Vaya flinched at that, but continued. “I hope that won’t be necessary. With the state of the galaxy, I expect there’s a lot of knowledge here that would be lost, possibly forever if that happened.” She kept her voice level, just as if she was talking to someone who might give her a research grant, and did not wail or shake the Guardian by the front of her clothes. Master Surra, of course, had nothing to shake.
“I’m not a political scientist, so I don’t know exactly how to describe what has happened, but there’s no Republic anymore. It’s been renamed an Empire, and has an Emperor, and that Emperor, people tell me, is a follower of the Sithist tradition.” She swallowed. “Having met his agents, I can believe it.
“The Jedi are officially extinct, and practically speaking it might be true, by the functional definition of ‘dropped below a viable population.’” Not that we’re talking about breeding them, exactly. “This Temple is a repository of Jedi knowledge. Its use, or preservation for future use, could make the difference for the Jedi, although maybe its original purpose was only to turn Knights into Sixth Order Knights.” Her tone of voice indicates she’s not clear on this point but doesn’t consider it important, at least right now.
“Given all that, what do you plan to do, besides see your daughter? What are you willing to do? Take in refugees from the Order? Other Forceful beings? Allow backups to be made of your knowledge, to be hidden away, or distributed, or studied?" She tried not to sound too eager as she put 'study' prominently at the end of the list.

"We will help how we can but I can't have our data replicated," Master Surro responded.
"You are welcome to study here." She added to Verse, "We have no information on that place."
Tirali rose and moved to a terminal and said, "May I?"
Master Surro looked at the group.

Qareme held back a frown at Vaya's words. There was truth in it, but it felt motivated by another factor.
"We will limit the visitation then" she said to Vaya, before looking to the two masters again.
"May I inquire as to what training would entail in this case? It is different from the traditional Jedi training I would assume."

Re: [D6MA -- TBD] Le Voyage dans la Lune
Verse could not hide her disappointment again; if any place was going to have it on its charts it'd be this place, surely. She was beginning to think maybe she'd made the whole thing up; her childhood before the Order, the planet of Light, her parents. Everything. That thought, more than anything she'd experienced the past few weeks presented itself as a crack in the psyche that the Dark Side might come to infect; threathening to overturn her otherwise indomitable cheeriness.
Silently, she brooded; as others spoke of other things.

With Tirali now being useful and appearing to help out the Jedi, Ru'ni looked around in wonder. The spirit had mentioned that he was supposed to be here, but he had his doubts.
In a roundabout way, he was here because of death, violent meaningless death. And this didn't look like the kind of place that such matters belonged. Was this like the Jedi's version of the Calm?
He wasn't sure, but it felt peaceful like it. So while everyone else was busy with big important stuff, he just sat down and tried to attune himself to this place like he would back home.

Re: [D6MA -- TBD] Le Voyage dans la Lune
There is peace and knowledge here but there is a fear of change Ru'ni detects as he lets his consciousness float free.
It is a relic of time gone by, a time that should be honored and respected, but it had its day...
But is it so different than the Aznuri, holding onto traditions and ancient ways in the face of progress and change?
He rose to his feet after several minutes with his thoughts clarified.
"This is a great place, but it is not my place, not a place of my people or our ways. We have some who are sky touched, but this Jedi way is different. We will respect your temple, and protect its secret and location as best we can, honoring the long alliance we have had with your Order. I believe that the only physical guide we possessed to this place is now lost, and perhaps it is for the best. Some doors cannot be closed once they are opened."

Vaya smothered a smirked. Okay, fair, hologram. "Well, if you'll allow me to look, I'll see what there is and how much it might be missed if you have to blow it all up. If there's something here that's somewhere in between too dangerous to let me copy but not so dangerous that you can't let me look at it, it'd be a shame if they," she gestured to the Padawans, "not to mention the rest of the galaxy, lost it. Maybe you'll let someone have a copy."Jedi Master Surro wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 2:20 am"I don't trust you, I believe you are sincere but I also sense ambition and a greed for knowledge," she responded.
She stood with the sudden urgency of someone who needs to use the refresher. "I'm sure I've got more questions, but nothing that'll bring the walls crashing down. I'm going to go look at what you've got." She looked between the Guardian and Master Surra, as if expecting them to suddenly revoke permission, but if not, starts moving.
"Verse, you want to start by seeing how hard it is to see if they have anything on whatever you were looking for?" she tossed over her shoulder, not stopping.

Vaya peppered Surra with logistical and practical questions as she tried to get oriented in the space, and Verse with ones about where to start. She intended to use Verse's question as a way to "test drive" the place -- no better way to find your way around an archive than to do it going after a real question.
"So," she started with Verse. "What are we looking for, and what do you think you already know?"

Sinnya, meanwhile, began scouting the physical space of the temple as Jenna had started doing earlier. Unless stopped, she'd explore a bit, adding to her mental map of the installation.

Re: [D6MA -- TBD] Le Voyage dans la Lune
It’s a large structure with three floors, they were on the top floor and the floor below had the living quarters and placed to meditate and a large internal garden area that was currently bare. The floor below that had training areas and classrooms and a large circular chamber for meetings and gatherings. The room with the nice chairs is where the council could meet and off from that was a large library which took up the majority of this floor.
Master Surro accompanied anyone that explored giving them a tour and is forthcoming of what they could find inside. The Jedi Master is calm and understanding as long as they listen to her, there is one area of the top floor that seems restricted, this seems to be where the suspended animation pods were and other critical systems.
Despite being underground there are lots of windows that look at exterior forested vistas built from imagery of a world called Tython that has great significance to the Jedi order.
Jedi Master Surro explained that the Sixth Line were Jedi but they held to the sixth line of the Code developed by herself in conjunction with another Jedi, Layne Hoshin and the Jedi Council at the time. The idea was that a strike force of elite Jedi who were loyal first to the Republic could do things that a normal Jedi would be expected to refrain from. These Jedi would be doubly tested for susceptibility to corruption, the Dark Side, and have significant training before becoming Sixth Line. They were always small and mobile and largely unknown. Most Jedi even members of the Council did not know about them, and recruiting was a slow process so there were never more then perhaps a hundred in the whole galaxy.
Their missions were not cataloged by the Order and even their roster was redacted. Once a Jedi became Sixth Line, they often were considered KIA or MIA and worked in the shadows, some did work openly but didn’t reveal themselves as Sixth Line. They were not assassins on the whole, that work fell to the Jedi Shadows, and was rare, but they were called in for military operations of a dubious nature or to work behind enemy lines with limited resources.
What made them controversial was that they could put Duty to the Republic ahead of things like Redemption or compassion or other usual Jedi restrictions. This meant that they policed themselves heavily for abuses, and any sign of corruption usually meant retirement from duty.

Sinnya paused with the palm of one hand pressed flat against one of the fake windows. A fake bird, beautifully detailed, fluttered in the space between her thumb and first finger.
"They locked themselves in a cage." The words were for Master Surro (#4) and anyone else who happened to be nearby, but mostly, it seemed, for herself. "Then they painted on the walls and pretended it was real. How horrible. What a sad way to live."
It was possible she wasn't only talking about the windows.

Vaya kept her opinions about the Jedi putting service to a state above their spiritual or moral duties to herself, although she might have given Verse a look with a skeptical raised eyebrow.
Ooc: Difficulty on finding out stuff about Verse’s planet with the records here? (I assume Verse aids). The "using this to learn my way around their resources" thing could be flavor, another check, a thing to use the extra of a good roll for.
